Congress established the First Responder
Network Authority in 2012, known as FirstNet, to create a nationwide broadband
network dedicated to first responders. AT&T built the network, and we
created an identity and design system that flexes to communicate the specific needs of Fire, Police, and EMS responders.
The FirstNet symbol is comprised of three bands which are a nod to the three types of first responders; police, fire and EMS.
