The ubiquitous redaction color fields seen in every city sometimes resemble a Josef Albers or Mark Rothko study and other times a departure point for ESPO’s early work.

The graffiti cover-up techniques used by building owners and city workers and their mismatched paint schemes can draw more attention to the cover-up than the original tagger’s work.
